GPS/Grade Setter(s) (seasonal)

Responsible for safely setting grade stakes to guide equipment operators on highway, parking lot and civil sitework projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Acceptable interpersonal communication skills
2. 2+ years of experience grade checking and staking preferred
3. Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment for surveying preferred
4. Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record
5. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors, rollers, skid steers and loaders.
6. Highschool diploma or GED
7. Require kneeling, climbing, walking, twisting and general labor work.
Additional Information
Other activities would include basic surveying, operation of equipment, and general labor.
would include verification of grade specifications, measurements, staking grade with GPS and traditional grade setting equipment.

Read and understand survey stakes to determine grade specification for embankment/excavation.

Read and understand construction plans and specifications to ensure jobs are built correctly and to spec.

Collect and utilize information using GPS equipment.

Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.

Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, GPS equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

Perform other duties as assigned including general labor.
