As a Plant & Yaard Worker, you will get to perform labor type work necessary to maintain a clean and safe work environment for all locations, including but not limited to Puunene & Waikapu quarries, batch plants and maintenance facilities. Works under the general supervision of Leadsman, Supervisor or Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Must posses a valid Hawaii State Drivers License and be able to drive an automobile or pick-up truck
• Must be able to work NIGHT SHIFT, overtime and on weekends as required
• Requires Saturday work
• Must be mechanically inclined
• 1 year of previous experience
• Must become a member of the ILWU Local 142
Duties and/or Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to:
• Operate skid steer loader and other manual equipment necessary to maintain a safe and clean work environment around crushing, maintenance and batch plant equipment
• May assist mechanics and other personnel with minor repairs as required
• Responsible for basic crusher/conveyor maintenance and servicing
• Requires changing conveyor belting, idlers, rollers, skirt board, screens and all other wear parts requiring frequent repair or replacement
• Checks mechanical condition of equipment as required
• Assists mechanics on emergency and minor repairs
• Reports unsafe conditions and mechanical defects on equipment
• Performs pre- and post- operational checks such as oil, water, and fuel levels, checks all lights and braking system, and tires
• Responsible for cleanliness and proper appearance of equipment and makes minor repairs when necessary
• Performs repair and replacement maintenance on all wear parts
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, process, and behaviors
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Works in varying environments, from air-conditioned offices to hot, dusty, muddy field conditions
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and withstand heights
• Must be able to lift and carry materials weighting up to 60 pounds
