* Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained
* Safely and properly supervise and coordinate activities of workers.
* Calculates number of trucks required to haul material according to capacity of vehicles, traffic conditions, distance from work site and productivity of drivers. Tours work site to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules and to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment.
* Measures distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site. Directs work crews engaged in operation of vehicles and machines. Verifies curvature of graded surface using hand level.
* Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in preparing and applying concrete. Reads specification sheets for information
* Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
* Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors
* Ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance
* Frequently working in an environment with: Stooping, Loud noises, Reaching, Handling, Fingering, Talking, Hearing, Exposure to varying elements of all weather conditions, and need for Near Acuity, Far Acuity, Depth Perception.
Occasionally working in an environment with: Climbing, Feeling, need for Color Vision, and Exposure to varying environmental conditions
* While performing daily tasks may be required to lift and/or up to 75# occasionally , up to 50# frequently
* Performs other duties as assigned.
