Mechanic - Swing Shift Lead

Job Summary:
The Medford operation seeks an experienced Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of heavy trucks/equipment. As the lead swing shift mechanic, you will ensure work is performed accurately, efficiently and safely as directed by the shop foreman and per company standards. You'll also provide mentorship and training to other mechanics and oilers. Swing shift hours are 12PM-8:30PM, Monday-Friday with some overtime.

Major Job Responsibilities Include:
1. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems to determine method and extent of repair necessary drive train, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, suspension components, etc.).
2. Perform welding and operate cut tools, hoist and lifting devices, as needed.
3. Read, interpret and apply information from technical manuals and schematics.
4. Anticipate needed parts and supplies.
5. Complete repair order paperwork and Zonar logs, as needed
6. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, safety & environmental regulations & policy.
7. Provide leadership and oversee maintenance activities for swing shift shop personnel.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Prior heavy truck mechanic/maintenance or similar experience or training.
2. Previous experience in leadership role and training of new mechanics preferred.
3. Class A or B CDL with good driving record (or ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire).
4. Basic mathematical competence to effectively troubleshoot and resolve problems.
5. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and co-workers.

Provide your own basic hand tools. We will replace broken/damaged tools due to reasonable use while on the job. This union Local No 483 position pays competitive wage and offers excellent benefit package. Union membership required after hire.
